What makes Nicaragua so special?

The "Land of Lakes and Volcanoes" is one of the richest places of the world. Of course, we all know which kind of richness we speak about. Among all the goods this country counts with there are some of endless nature. Its peole and there way of life, the comfortable climate, the sun, its waters - both oceans and lakes, to name only some of them.

But Nicaragua has also an other important resource which is not as present in some peoples' mind as it deserved, it might be due to this element's invisible nature. Invisible but we can feel it and use it! The wind.

One of the most elegant ways of making use of the wind is getting moved by it. The most ancient of these technologies is sailing. Some nicaraguan fishermen make use of it in their everyday lives - without getting that much attention...

From mankind's very first intents of using sails in order to be pushed forward by the wind, navigation and sailing has undergone a huge process of innovation. New materials in boat construction and sail making, combined with sophisticated new hull designs, empower sailors different points of sailing - such as sailing clause-hauled. Also the fun part of sailing has become important.
Sailing has developed to towards an aquatic sports considering the journey itself as the destination.
